Le Comité d'expertise des œuvres d’art a pour objectif de recommander au Secrétaire général l’acceptation ou le refus des dons officiels des États Membres à l’Organisation des Nations Unies. Il apporte également son concours à la mise en œuvre de politiques et procédures régissant la gestion appropriée des oeuvres d'arts et leur authentification.

- Élaborer et promulguer les critères régissant l’authemtification des objets antiques à l’Organisation des Nations Unies.
- Agir en qualité de conseil consultatif sur la gestion des expertises à l’Organisation des Nations Unies.
- Examiner les oeuvres et en recommander l’approbation ou le refus par le Secrétaire général.
- Recommander l’emplacement où ces oeuvres seront exposés.

The purpose of the Art Expertise Committee is to recommend to the Secretary-General the acceptance or refusal of official donations from Member States to the United Nations. It also assists in the implementation of policies and procedures governing the appropriate management of works of art and their authentication.
Functions
- Develop and promulgate criteria governing the authentication of ancient objects at the United Nations.
- Act as an advisory council on the management of expertise at the United Nations.
- Examine the works and recommend their approval or refusal by the Secretary General.
- Recommend the location where these works will be exhibited.
